Sources close to Hamas have confirmed to "Arabstoday" that during a closed meeting on Wednesday in Cairo, the movement decided to set conditions for implementing the Doha Declaration. Fatah and Hamas agreed during a summit in Doha to appoint Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas as a prime minister in the unity government that will prepare for the elections. Abbas was reportedly informed of the conditions during the Cairo meeting with Khaled Mashaal. They included Abbas being sworn in as prime minister before the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) in Gaza, Hamas appointing the deputy prime minister and three major ministries (Interior, Justice and Finance). The sources suggested that Abbas will reject the conditions.
