H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA), has chaired the first meeting of the board for the year 2016 in his office at the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi's Court.

During the meeting, the board was briefed about the progress of the project to expand land plots in Shamkha to the existing 2,465 plots there.

A presentation was made by the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC) about the new plans in the emirate, including the 686-plot Al Fawa development, the 120-plot Sih Al Nashash development in Al Ain, the 133-plots in Al Rahba and the 657-plots in Al Shawamikh.

The progress in construction and maintenance work of commercial housing projects and the plans for sustainable housing programme, being developed in collaboration with the UPC, were also reviewed.

Sheikh Hazza was briefed about the list of housing loan repayment exemptions on account of the death of owners. The total value of such loans is AED 33 million.

A presentation by Saif Badr Al Qubaisi, Director general of ADHA, highlighted the status of housing applications and the factors affecting qualifications for housing loans, including accuracy of information.

The board reviewed the current housing projects in Abu Dhabi, including 1,245 completed houses in Bani Yas, Bida'a al Matawa'a, Al Yabana development, Umm Al Shtan and Ramah, and 5,272 under construction houses in Jabal Hafit, Ain Al Faydha, Al Shabia, Mazyad and Umm Ghafa.

The board members also viewed designs of Baiti initiatives for modern, Islamic and Andalusian architecture styles for single and multi-storey houses of 480 and 650 square metres, respectively.
