    Hezbollah held the funeral of its member Hussein Abdel Ghani al-Nemr in a crowded procession in the town of al-Ansar in Baalbek. The procession was headed by people holding the party’s flags and the party’s leaders. This is the second funeral in five days where the party mourned Abu Abbas, one of its leaders, who was killed in an ambush made by the Free Syrian army in Homs. In al-Nemr’s funeral, the coffin was held on the shoulders and headed by parliament member Hussein al-Moussawi, Head of the Legitimate Council of Hezbollah, Sheikh Muhammad Yazbek, Pastor of Baalbek Roman Catholic Bishop, Elias Rahal, Head of the Political Bureau, Sheikh Ibrahim Amin al-Sayed, as well as leaders of al-Amal movement and Baath Party. Yazbek said in his speech: “Mujahid Hussein al-Nemr is a martyr of duty and defending the nation. He was martyred in a battle where he defended the dignity of Islam and Muslims.” He added “We are not adventurers. July 2006 proved this and the sincerity of our Jihad and defending Islam’s dignity. Adventurers are those who make use of strife in the Islamic world.” Information from North Lebanon reported violent clashes occurred this afternoon is the Syrian villages opposite to the Plain of Akkar and the borders between Lebanon and Syria in the north. The villages was subject to heavy shooting which reached the old security centre on al-Aboudiya crossing, a centre which was emptied when the security personnel and moved to the new premises distant from the tension point. According to the information, the army and border guards applied necessary measures and citizens moved from the villages to other towns away from the Syrian borders.
