Israeli television's Channel 10 revealed Thursday evening that a Syrian official working for President Bashar al-Assad's regime sent a former Israeli security official important security information. The channel stated that the information included details of Iran providing the Syrian regime with advanced weaponry, through naval and land channels between the two countries. According to Channel 10, the Syrian official expects Israel to open direct communication with him in order to obtain additional information. News reports earlier mentioned that secret contact in Washington, Paris and Brussels, between two delegates from Assad's government and the office of Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, led Israeli authorities to allegedly support the current Syrian regime, on the grounds of "Israel's strategic interests”.
