Israeli forces kill infiltrator in Sinai

Israeli forces engaged in overnight clashes with gunmen who entered from Egypt's Sinai Peninsula killed one, the Israeli military said on Tuesday. The Israeli army issued a statement, which was aired by military radio, saying: "Soldiers patrolling along the Israel-Egypt border identified a number of suspects who had infiltrated Israel." "The suspects fired at the soldiers, who returned fire and identified a hit," the statement added, saying all but one member of the group escaped back into Egypt. "Upon the arrival of an Israeli Defence Force (IDF) medical force to the location of the incident, they confirmed the death of the injured suspect."
