Israeli Navy intercepted a Palestinian fishing boat on Thursday in the Rafah waters off the Gaza Strip. Mohammed Aziz Bakr (26) and Mahmoud Aziz Bakr (28), both from Gaza City, were on board the boat, which was sailing nearly 2.5 nautical miles from the seashore. Israeli 916 naval unit arrested the two fishermen and towed the fishing boat towards Ashdod Harbour inside Israel, to search for alleged smuggled weapons, but the Israeli navy found nothing but vehicle spare parts. The two fishermen were detained for several hours and questioned. They were released later, but their boat remains in custody.
