The African peace and Security Council ended its first session at the ministerial level Friday night in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, while the council heard both Sudan and South Sudan, where Sudanese FM Ali Karti renewed his commitment to set and achieve peace with the South, while the delegation head of the South Bakan Amom confirmed that his country needs to achieve good neighborly relations with Sudan. The official Sudanese foreign ministry spokesman and the member of the Sudanese delegation, Al-Obaid Ahmed Marouh, told Arabstoday "the council heard from Sudan and the South, where Sudanese foreign minister Ali Karti presented his country speech explaining the steps committing Sudan to the African road map was approved by the peace and security African council. The speech discussed "the security failure in the South, renewing Sudanese commitment by setting and achieving peace with south". The ambassador Al-Obaid Marouh said that "the permanent members in international security council representatives attended the session" adding "the council will listen to a detailed report from the head of the African mediation committee Thabo Mbeki discussing negotiation operation and what has reached untill now between both countries about their disputed issues. Marouh confirmed to Arabstoday that "Khartoum has shared in all negotiation sessions in a real intention to end dispute with the South emerged after separation of states last year, starting with oil rigs disputes, borders, and security file. The other party sometimes came to negotiation sessions fueling disputes, instead of solving it". On the Security Council ended deadline, Thursday where the council asked Khartoum and Juba to end their disputed files, Marouh said his government "has the intention to solve disputes, whishing world know that well".
