Kirkuk under Iraqi police’s control, says PM
Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi

Kirkuk city is now under the control of Iraqi police, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said on Wednesday.
Speaking to Alsumaria News TV channel, Abadi said he ordered the Iraqi security apparatus to eliminate any criminal groups in the governorate.
Security forces in Kirkuk are mainly tasked with protecting citizens and their property, he added.
