A man was taken into custody after climbing over a security fence at Buckingham Palace, Sky News reported on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old man from Croydon was spotted by police officers who were monitoring the CCTV and arrested in the grounds of Buckingham Palace at 4:15 a.m. local time Tuesday morning, according to the report.
The man, who had been drinking, did not gain access to the palace and was not armed, according to local police.
The breach is not believed to be terrorism-related, local police said in a statement.
The man is currently being held in a central London police station, and no member of the royal family was in residence at the time of the arrest.
