A man was seriously injured in a shooting in Belgian capital Brussels Saturday evening, Brussels' public prosecutor said Sunday.
No suspect has yet been identified. The victim, who has already been hospitalized, was in critical condition, said prosecutor spokesman Ine Van Wymersch.
The shooting happened near the Emile Bockstael Square in Laeken late Saturday night. Witness said the victim was shot in his car by a heavily armed man who drove a Golf 4 without license plates, according to Belgian broadcaster RTL.
Belgium has been on high security alert since the serial bombings that rocked the city in March which killed 32 people.
