A Ukrainian military helicopter made an emergency landing in the government-controlled eastern region of Donetsk, with everyone on board unharmed, authorities said Friday night.
The Mi-8 warplane made the forced landing at about 10.40 a.m. local time (GMT 0740) Thursday near Rayske village, located some 40 km northwest from the frontline of fighting between government troops and independence-seeking insurgents, according to a statement by the military.
The incident happened after the helicopter hit a power line, while trying to fly around a flock of birds, the statement said.
