The Criminal Court of North Cairo headed by Judge Ahmed Refaat decided on Monday to hear several civil rights plaintiffs who represent the families of martyrs in the trial of ousted Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, his two sons, and his former Interior Minister Habib El-Adli. The hearing will resume on Tuesday. Amir Salem, who represents the families of the victims in the civil case accused the national security and the ex-state security of having a network of 165,000 thugs trained to attack the revolutionaries. Meanwhile, lawyer Khaled Abu Bakr stated in front of the court that Mubarak was capable of stopping the attack on protesters during the early days of the revolution adding that hundreds of victims and martyrs lost their lives so Mubarak would stay in place. Abu Bakr demanded the court to apply article no.77 from the penalties law which applies death penalty for all those who attack the sovereignty of the country and its independence. Sameh Ashour representing the plaintiff has demanded Mubarak be executed.
