An explosion took place at 2.20am Tuesday morning (Beirut time) in Moawwad Street in Al Shayyah area in a commercial area, which is fully under the control of Hezbollah. Lebanese security forces including army and police were not able to reach the targeted area as Hezbollah cordoned the area where the explosion took place and did not allow the forces to start its investigation till this morning. Locals did not cooperate enough with the security forces either to pass any information they have about the incident. Police reports stated that a Mercedes 230 belongs to Mohamed Jamil Jawad carrying the registration number 283655 2003 model was completely burnt out. The information did not give any details about any injuries or deaths amongst civilians or the owner of the vehicle. Lebanese security forces informed Arabstoday that the investigation would expand in the coming few hours especially that the owner of the targeted Mercedes owns a car spare parts shop and may be related to the two people who were killed last week in an Antelias explosion which is being investigated and proved that those two worked in the same field as he did.
