Kabul - Agencies

An International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service member has been killed in an insurgent attack southern Afghanistan late Sunday. The ISAF has announced the casualty in a release with no details of the incident or the member's nationality. US, UK, and Australian troops are centered in the southern Afghanistan area. Afghanistan's Taliban has increased attacks on Afghan and foreign troops lead by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) with the launch of the spring offensive which started last May. The foreign soldier's killing raises the NATO death toll to six since Saturday morning when four French soldiers were killed and five others injured in a suicide attack by Taliban at the eastern Kabisa county. A fifth ISAF soldier has been killed in a roadside bombing eastern Afghanistan. According to the release, at least 193 foreign soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan since the beginning of the current year.
