An officer was killed and three soldiers were wounded this morning in a suicide attack on the headquarters of Regional Command of the Gendarmerie in the Algerian oil city of Ouargla. A statement by the National Gendarmerie said the terrorist bombing took place around five o'clock in the morning and targeted the headquarters of the Fourth Regional Command of the National Gendarmerie in downtown Ouargla, leaving one dead and injuring three others. Qatar News Agency (QNA) correspondent quoted local sources as saying the killed officer from the city of Biskra adjacent to the city of Ouargla (700 km south east of the country). The sources pointed out that the attack took place by a car bomb driven by the suicide bomber who attempted to penetrate the security barrier after exchanging fire with the soldiers.
