Peru's president-elect Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Sunday named beer company executive Fernando Zavala to be his prime minister, when he takes office on July 28.
For the position, which officially carries the title "President of the Council of Ministers," Kuczynski chose someone with both public- and private-sector experience.
Zavala, 45, currently serves as general manager of Peru's largest brewery Backus and Johnston, a subsidiary of SABMiller, but has held several posts in former administrations.
He served as minister of Economy and Finance from 2005 to 2006, under the presidency of Alejandro Toledo, and with Kuczynski serving as prime minister.
Previously, he served as deputy minister of Economy, from 2002 to 2005.
He has also worked for other breweries, including Panama's National Brewery from 2009 to 2013.
"Very honored by the designation ... committed to working for a better Peru," Zavala posted on his Twitter account.
Kuczynski has said he will unveil the rest of his cabinet on July 15.
