Polling stations abroad yesterday received voters on the first day of the polling for the FNC elections.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for FNC Affairs and Chairman of the Election Management Committee, Tariq Hilal Lootah, said polling began at the specified time at all 94 polling stations in the UAE diplomatic missions, including embassies and consulates.
The National Elections Committee (NEC) said members of the Electoral College abroad must show their Emirates Identity Cards before casting their votes at the missions. Voting will be done manually by writing the name of the candidate on an e-template paper prepared by the committee.
Members of the Electoral College can check the address of the diplomatic missions abroad by visiting the websites of either the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (http://www.mofa.gov.ae) or the National Election Committee (http://www.uaenec.ae).
