The rebel Houthi militia and insurgents loyal to ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh continue to commit crimes against unarmed Yemeni civilians by bombarding houses in flagrant violation of International law, which criminalises targeting civilians, according to Yemeni sources.
The sources said the rebel militia is using residential and other civilian buildings as military barracks to confuse facts and use civilians as human shields to send false messages to the international community.
The rebel militias also use banks and government institutions to store rockets in a desperate bid to hide as the Yemeni pro-government army and the Yemeni National Resistance forces backed by the Saudi-led Arab Coalition continue to advance.
The local Yemeni sources said the rebel Houthi and Saleh militias continue to violate all norms in order to undermine the current peace talks by avoiding national responsibilities as they continue to besiege the city of Taez and bombard villages in Thi-Naem and al-Shazibi districts in al-Bayda province with katyusha rockets wounding civilians, including women and children, and causing massive damage to houses and other property.
In the same context, Yemeni sources said eight Houthi militants were killed in confrontations with the pro-government army and the National Resistance forces in Al-Ghail district of Al-Jawf province.
Meanwhile, the advancing government army and Resistance forces took positions in the Al-Aqaba area and cut supply lines to the Houthi rebels in the Wadi Sadba area, the sources added.
