UN Security Council
New York - Arab Today

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Thursday renewed its rejection and condemnation of acts of terrorism in all its forms and whatever its goals or sources, stressing that the protection of civilians from occupation and systematic murder, and refraining from spreading sectarian strife are not just moral and legal obligations, but are vital demands.

This came in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's speech before the UN Security Council on the item international peace and security threat, which was delivered today by Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Mouallimi.

Al-Mouallimi explained that terrorism has become one of the most important contemporary challenges that threaten the countries, communities and individuals of all races and religions, saying that "terrorism has also become a source of draining money and resources and disrupting development. Terrorism is a global phenomenon that has no religion and no homeland or a specific nationality, and from this standpoint, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia confirms its rejection and condemnation of acts of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, whatever their objectives or their sources, they are all heinous crimes that are rejected and criminalized by Islam and can have no justification in any religion or belief."

He added, "We are also watching with great concern the increasing hate crimes that amount to violence and terrorism against Muslim in the world..."

The ambassador reiterated in great details the Saudi efforts in the field of fighting terrorism noting Israeli atrocities, and the Syrian regime's crimes.
