Tunisian security forces raided number of suspicious companies owned by known smugglers and businessmen. They raided warehouses of arrested businessman, Najib Bin Ismail who is currently being investigated, and confiscated some smuggled goods amount to 7 billion dinars that were expected to be sold during Ramadan and distributed to local markets. The forces also confiscated 5 billion dinars smuggling goods in Aroos and Sousa governorates.

Special Security unites raided smugglers mansions in Algeria, Bin Aroos, Al-Kasreen and Sousa, and coordinated with the rest of security unites to arrest number of smugglers in Qabli, Tataouene and Madenin. A special Security Force raided the home of a TV channel owner and confiscated amounts of money and launched an investigation against him, as it was cleared that, he used his channel to facilitate trade businesses and he was also involved in a tax evasion case.

The security launched an investigation to look into some companies that were opened recently to hide deals and smuggling operations, and some suspected businessmen were arrested in corruption cases and cases of financial irregularities in ports such as, smuggling tons of copied materials and selling them in local markets and shops.

Confiscation operations led to freezing balances and property seizure of some businessmen. Head of these operations said, the confiscation decisions were legal and conducted based on officials reports. The authorities that were concerned with confiscating businessman, Shafik Al Graya property were able to recover 62 cars registered to his name, and 20 apartments occupied by media hosts and politicians.
