Britain's exit not to affect its ties with Sudan
Khartoum - Arab Today

Sudanese government on Saturday reiterated that its ties with Britain would not be affected by the exit from the European Union (EU), official SUNA news agency reported.

"The result of the vote on Britain's exit is a matter that concerns the British people. It is a democratic process accepted by those who work in politics and who accept democracy as a method of rule," Ali Al-Saddiq, Sudan Foreign Ministry Spokesman, was quoted as saying.

He stressed the bilateral ties are historical and deeply-rooted despite the stalemate in the past two decades, expecting Britain's exit not to affect its ties with Sudan.

Al-Saddiq expressed Sudan's hope to improve its relations with Britain, saying "we are confident that if political will is made available on the British side, Sudan is keen to develop and improve its ties with Britain."

On Friday, about 52 percent of the British people voted in favor of leaving the EU which comprises of 28 countries, after 43 years in the EU bloc.
