The official spokesman of the Sudanese military forces Sawarmi Khaled Saad has confirmed Wednesday that the two Iranian warships ended their mission successfully and left in peace. He confirmed that "it was a social, diplomatic, political, and scientific mission, mentioning that they have left east Sudan Wednesday after spending three days on the Sudanese coast, where they then moved towards Sudan from the western coast of the Indian Ocean in order to perform their mission represented in fighting marine piracy". Sawarmi added that "warships were carrying three hundred individuals from experts, officers, and soldiers, in addition to radar and weapons technicians". The Sudanese government has confirmed that "this step is considered among the military cooperation between Khartoum and Tehran".
