Khartoum - Abed Algayom Ashmeag

The National Assembly has revealed a plan for holding direct dialogue with the US Congress to improve relations between the two legislative institutions. Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Haju Gasm Al-Seid stated that Sudan will ask the US’s Charge d'Affaires in Khartoum to instigate direct dialogue between the two bodies  and to change the US Congress's “hostile stance” towards Sudan. Gasm Al-Seid said that when US congressmen visit Sudan, “they don't visit our parliament but go to areas of conflict instead” adding that the US was “not serious in its relations with Sudan”, referring to its recent stance towards tje Conference on Sudan’s Economic Development held in Istanbul, Turkey in which the US refused to participate and urged other countries to do likewise.
