The chairman of Syria's elections committee, Judge Khalaf al-Azzawi has stated that the final results of Syria's parliamentary elections are to be announced on Tuesday at 11am, said state news agency SANA. The outcome of the People's Assembly vote will be declared at the auditorium of the Palace of Justice in al-Mezzah. Voting took place on May 7. In a statement to SANA on Monday, al-Azzawi added that the committee received all the results of the constituencies after discussing objections. The opposition boycotted the vote and claimed turnout was low, with many polling stations empty, but the government described the turnout as "remarkable". Authorities claimed the elections were repeated at two electoral centres in Hasaka, two other centres in Damascus and in 14 centres in Damascus suburbs due to "violations of electoral law"
