A security source confirmed that a number of Iraqi citizens were injured following a new attack by dormant cells of IS organization in a liberated area from the control of the organization, in Anbar province, west of the country.
The source said that 10 civilians, mostly women and children, were wounded in an attack by improvised explosive devices planted by dormant cells on the windows of the houses of two families in the area of Bozeiab, north of Ramadi. He explained that the IEDs were detonated remotely by IS militants, in the area liberated by Iraqi forces from the grip of the organization, last year.
The sources added that the security forces cordoned off the area and managed to arrest one of the suspects, noting that the wounded were taken to Ramadi General Hospital for treatment.
It is noteworthy that IS organization lost most of the areas of they control in the province of Anbar, which constitutes only one third of the territory of Iraq.
