US President Donald Trump acknowledged on Thursday night that Attorney General Jeff Sessions could have been more accurate in what he said about his contacts with Russian officials.
At the same time, he called the attacks of the US Democratic Party against Attorney General Jeff Sessions "a witch-hunt," in reference to Sessions’ answers during his confirmation hearing at the Judiciary committee to become attorney general. "Jeff Sessions is an honest man. He did not say anything wrong. He could have stated his response more accurately, but it was clearly not intentional," Trump said in a statement posted on his page on Facebook.
On possible contacts between members of President Trump’s campaign and representatives of Moscow, Sessions replied he had not had any contacts with Russians during last year’s election campaign.
