The UAE and French armed forces have concluded a joint military exercise in the Emirates.
The final drill of ‘Gulf 2016’ was attended by Matar Salem Ali Al Dhaheri, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, senior UAE and French military officials and Michel Miraillet, French Ambassador to the UAE.
For several days, the armed forces from both countries were engaged in training to enhance their skills in joint operations and to upgrade inter-troop co-ordination and combat capabilities.
The forces involved displayed high standards of professionalism, multi-layered co-ordination and interoperability, reported Wam, the state news agency.
‘Gulf 2016’ is part of a series of joint exercises and is carried out every four years as part of a co-operation agreement signed in 1995.
