Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for early elections amid constant airstrikes on Gaza, sources said. Secretary General of Palestinian Liberation Front (PLF) Dr. Wasel Abou Youssef said the Israeli government are working to amend their political and economic issues to strengthen themselves for new attacks on Gaza. He said "our priority now is to seek help from United Nations. The US position will remain unchanged before the presidential election so we cannot expect any American pressure on Israel." He said the Palestinian efforts are now concentrated on getting the UN to recognise Palestine as a state and returning displaced Palestinian refugees to Palestine. He said that the separation between Gaza and West Bank serves Israel’s interests. Abu Youssef made a case of Palestinian prisoners and said the Israeli practices against prisoners need to be exposed.
