Any move to revive the peace process and re-launch serious negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis should be based on the two-state solution, as the only path to end the conflict, King Abdullah II of Jordan said.
The King made the remarks in a meeting with heads of parliamentary blocs in a meeting at Al Husseiniyeh palace, Petra news agency said.
The meeting tackled regional developments, the King's visit to the US and Russia, the upcoming Arab Summit Jordan will host, the Palestinian issue, the Syrian crisis and support for national reconciliation in Iraq.
Also in the meeting, King Abdullah urged full cooperation between the government and Lower House according to the constitution, which defines the government's general authority and underlines the legislature's oversight role.
The King said cooperation between the government and Lower House "enables us to improve the economic conditions and bring relief to the citizens", noting that all Jordanians share the responsibility "in this difficult stage", that requires to put the focus on economic priorities.
