The Shah Alam High Court in Malaysia has sentenced three Indonesian citizens to two years in jail for smuggling 19 migrants into the country through Sekinchan Beach in Sabak Bernam, last September.
Judge Datuk Andul Halim Aman ordered the three convicts to serve their two-year jail term, starting from the day they were arrested on September 22.
The three convicts identified as Muhammad Muhd. Halim (33), Azrai Marpaung (45), and Busrom Ajis (43) had operated the ship used to smuggle the migrants. They hailed from Tanjung Balai Asahan in Indonesia.
