Five people were arrested in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) with a large amount of weapons and ammunition seized at the scene, police said on Friday.
The arrests were made on Thursday in several locations in Republika Srpska (RS), an entity of BiH, carried out by RS special police forces, local media reported.
The suspects were trying to smuggle weapons to Sweden, police said, adding the arrests was coordinated with a police operation in Sweden.
One or two suspects were still on the run, local media reported.
Due to the war in 1990s, there are large amounts of illegal small arms and ammunition in Balkan region, with some of them smuggled to western Europe.
