A police officer in Oued Fes district used his service revolver on Monday in order to stop two people later charged with theft and endangering the lives of authorities.
According to a press release issued by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), one of the police officers fired three warning shots and then a fourth, which grazed the arm of one of the suspects. The DGSN said the policeman used his revolver only after the suspects had refused to comply with the authorities’ orders.
The statement added that the robbers had attempted to assault police officers with knives.
According to an initial investigation, the defendants had stolen a motorcycle, which they were using in order to steal people’s belongings. They were threatening their victims with knives
