The Afghan Senate blasted foreign forces for their inaction in the face of the recent clashes at Afghanistan's borders with Pakistan, and called on the foreign forces to take action to ensure security along the country's borders.During a parliament session on Sunday, Afghan senators stressed that the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) should stop inaction and indifference and take a practical move to deal with the border insecurities. Lawmakers also said that while ISAF forces are tasked with defending Afghanistan's territorial integrity, they show no action in this regard. They also summoned NATO's civilian representative to the Senate aver the recent border insecurities. The reaction by Afghan senators came after one soldier and several militants were killed in a clash close to Pakistan's Dir border with Afghanistan on Sunday. It was the seventh cross border attack in the district since June this year. Officials were tight-lipped on the clash and casualties. Most of them refused to speak to the media on record. There were also contradictory reports about the casualties suffered by militants in the clash. One source claimed that 15 militants were killed. Sources said that the incident took place in Karakar area of the district near the border of Afghanistan. Afghan security forces have been deployed along the border in the district after deadly and frequent incursions by militants from across the border. In Bannu, a constable was killed when a missile hit the boundary wall of official residence of District Police Officer Sajjad Khan on Sunday. Sources said that three missiles were fired at Bannu Cantonment from an unspecified location.
