President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, has considered convocation of the Conference of the Chiefs Justice and Heads of the Supreme Courts in the African Countries as a landmark step which affirms the African stance of commitment to justice and steadfastness in confronting conspiracies.
Addressing the opening sitting of the conference Sunday at the Friendship Hall, President Al-Bashir pointed out that the conference conveys a strong message that the Africans are capable of changing erroneous picture drawn by colonialism by a bright image of the African continent which is confronting different challenges.
He affirmed his confidence on the capability of the conferees to discuss the exposed judicial and legal issues in a manner that will boost the African experiment in the justice field and to work jointly in an atmosphere of professional harmony and coordination for the sake of enhancing the judicial performance in Africa.
President Al-Bashir has pointed to the various political, economic and social challenges that are facing Africa as a result of the flagrant foreign interventions.
President Al-Bashir has pointed in his address to the experiment of Sudan for ending the longest war in Sudan which has lasted for more than half a century, indicating that Sudan has sacrificed one third of its area for the sake of achieving peace and development.
He referred to the accord reached in Sudan via the national dialogue which recommended among other things the formulation of a new constitution, separation of the Attorney General position from the Ministry of Justice toward affirming the commitment to the principles of the Judiciary independence and the separation of powers.
The President of the Republic has appreciated the performance of the Judiciary and its independence which guarantees its neutrality and honesty, praising the performance of the Chief Justice, Haidar Ahmed Dafalla, and the judges who assumed the responsibility of realizing justice.
