Justice Minister Lazhar Karoui Chebbi stressed the importance of the Italian authorities' co-operation so that Moez Trabelsi be handed to the Tunisian judicial authorities after his recent arrest by Interpol, in Italy. Receiving Tuesday Mr. Pietro Benassi, Italy's ambassador to Tunisia, the Minister explained that the extradition of Moez Trabelsi is part of the implementation of the international arrest warrant issued against him by the Tunisian justice for charges of corruption. Additionally, the meeting provided the opportunity to discuss the co-operation prospects between the two countries in the field of justice, notably regarding bilateral co-operation conventions in the penal and civil fields and in matters of extradition of criminals. The talk was attended by the general public prosecutor and the director of the legal services within the Justice Ministry.
