Cairo - Qna

The Arab Parliament on Tuesday stressed its full support to the Palestinians'' bid for full membership of their state at the United Nations. A statement said the Arab Parliament backs the Palestine Liberation Organization''s plan to seek international recognition of an independent Palestinian state on 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital. It said the Palestinian statehood request would take the Palestinian cause to the United Nations whose resolutions, including those relating to Israel''s withdrawal to pre-67 borders and the illegal settlements, will be the basis and the reference of any political or negotiating process. The statement also commended Arab support of the Palestinian statehood bid and called on Arab countries to try to secure the largest possible recognition of the Palestinian state.(
