Arab League Secretary-General Dr Nabil Al Araby will travel to Damascus Wednesday to present the Arab initiative to solve the crisis in Syria, a high-level source at the Secretariat-General of Arab League said. The source added that that the Secretariat was waiting for the completion of the final arrangements for the visit during which Al Araby will meet only President Bashar al-Assad and Foreign Minister Walid Al Moallem. The source told Qatar News Agency''s correspondent in Cairo that Al Araby will present during the visit the Arab initiative that was adopted by Arab foreign ministers in Cairo recently to the Syrian leadership. The initiative demands the cessation of violence against the protesters, the withdrawal of troops from the cities and towns and the acceleration of political reforms in order to solve to the crisis that erupted five months ago. Al Araby announced yesterday that he will visit Syria this week and that his visit is an implementation of the decision of the emergency meeting of Arab foreign ministers held late last month.
