Representatives Council Chairman Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani received here today, in the presence of a number of MPs, a South Korean Delegation, led by the Executive Vice-President of the National Advisory Council for Democratic Peaceful Unification Kim Hyun-uk. During the meeting, Al Dhahrani discussed with the South Korean delegation ways of bolstering parliamentary ties and activating joint legislative and economic cooperation for the sake of boosting investments, exchanging industrial experties and increasing trade exchange. He also hailed the advanced level of the Bahraini-South Korean diplomatic relations and welcomed the opening of a South Korean embassy in the kingdom. Al Dhahrani also asserted that setting up a Joint Friendship Committee will help serve the two sides’ interests, boost exports and create better conditions for communication between the two nations, praising South Korea’s honourable stance towards the kingdom and the Arab countries and leading role in safeguarding regional peace and stability. He also stressed the need to establish a South Korean Trade Centre in the kingdom in order to extend bridges of economic cooperation and enhance exchanged investments, wishing the Korean people unity, prosperity and progress. On his part, Kim Hyun-uk commended the positive outcomes of the National Consensus Dialogue, as well as the pioneering Reform Project and the democratic march anchored by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He also praised the measures taken by HM King Hamad to promote security and stability across the kingdom, calling for the need to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two countries.
