Chinese police forces had arrested 9,031 suspects in an nine-month special campaign to crack down on piracy and other intellectual infringement illegalities, Xinhua news agency reported Tuesday. A total of 12,854 underground factories making pirated and faked products and 4,904 gangs selling those pirated goods were destroyed, said Jiang Zengwei, vice minister of the Ministry of Commerce at a press conference Chinese government initiated a nationwide campaign to fight against rampant illegalities producing pirated and faked books, DVDs and famous brand commodities since last October.
