Beijing - Arab Today

The Chinese government said Wednesday it is ready to strengthen anti-terrorism exchanges and cooperation with Arab countries to establish a long-term security cooperation mechanism, state-run Xinhua News Agency reported on Wednesday.
Xinhua cited the Arab Policy Paper, "We support the efforts of Arab States in countering terrorism and support their counterterrorism capacity building."

In addition to establishing long-term security cooperation mechanism, the paper said China is ready to strengthen policy dialogue and intelligence information exchange, and carry out technical cooperation and personnel
training to jointly address the threat of international and regional terrorism.

The Arab Policy Paper, the first of its kind issued by the Chinese government, consists of five parts: deepen China-Arab strategic cooperative relations of comprehensive cooperation and common development; China's Arab policy; strengthen China-Arab cooperation in an all-around manner; China-Arab States Cooperation Forum and its follow-up actions; relations between China and Arab regional organizations.

The paper also elaborated China's policies to strengthen China-Arab Cooperation in the political field, trade and investment, social development, culture and people-to-people exchanges.

As part of China's Arab policy, the paper said China supports the Middle East peace process and the establishment of an independent state of Palestine with full sovereignty, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. "China supports the Arab League and its member states' efforts to this end, " it said.
