Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, affirmed on Friday that Daesh (ISIS) terrorist organization has been completely defeated in Syria.
“As for Syria and the joint fight against Daesh, Daesh has been completely defeated, in fact. The president gave corresponding assessments. The remaining flashpoints do not pose a serious threat and will be quashed,” the minister said in a press conference following the Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
He added that Russia is working with the Turkish and Iranian counterparts to ensure the effectiveness of the de-escalation zones in Syria, especially Idleb, noting that there are no plans with the United States on Syria’s Idleb
