Lieutenant-General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Police and General Security in Dubai and Chairman of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University’s, HBMSU, Board of Governors, dedicated the university’s success in obtaining academic accreditation to deliver its ‘Master of Science in Innovation and Change Management’ programme online in the UAE to Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council and the President of HBMSU.
During the first regular meeting of the university' s Board of Governors for the academic year 2017-2018, held recently at the Dubai Police Officers Club, Lieutenant-General Tamim dedicated the unique achievement to the wise leadership on behalf of the board and members of the faculty and administration.
"The accreditation of the ‘Master of Science in Innovation and Change Management’ as the first master's degree programme fully taught through electronic platforms in the UAE affirms the competency of the university to occupy a leading position in smart learning. This embodies the wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed and the directions of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan to adopt innovative and smart methods to enable new generations to take the lead in overall development and in creating and shaping the future.
"We are proud that the master's programme has been approved by the Commission for Academic Accreditation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This marks an advanced step towards building young competencies armed with modern tools, and qualified to carry the banner of development and leadership, in line with our ambitious aspirations to provide the best education for the creators and innovators of the future. This will be done via a methodology based on the development of the philosophy of learning through the solid pillars of smart technology, innovation, quality, and scientific research.
"We are confident that the provision of innovative academic programmes through electronic and smart channels strengthens our active role in achieving the objectives of the National Agenda of UAE Vision 2021 with regards to the development of a high-level educational system that ensures the potential investment of human capital in innovation and entrepreneurship.
"It is not surprising that HBMSU is a pioneer in the development of learning and education, driven by a vision to adopt new educational tools that meet the requirements of the future. We are confident that the new academic accreditation will place us at the forefront of entities supporting the ‘Dubai: Smartest City in the World’ project," Lieutenant-General Tamim added.
