Dr. Ali Al-Jaafar from Kuwait University with the cooperation of Mr. Shinji Bantani, the Cultural Attache at the Embassy of Japan in Kuwait, attended the Hiroshima Peace Memorial ceremony on 6 August, 2016.
During his courtesy visit from 4 to 6 August, Dr. Ali accompanied by Mr. Bantani donated his book ‘Children's literature and politics’ to the Mayor of Hiroshima and Manager of Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. In his book, Dr. Ali wrote about his experience of his last visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony in 2000 and the relation between the Hiroshima atomic bomb incident and the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. One of the strange incidents mentioned in the book was how the Hiroshima attack in Japan happened in 1945, and after 45 years, the Iraqi invasion took place
