Egypt's Consul General in Shanghai Khaled Youssef
Shanghai - Arab Today

Egypt's Consul General in Shanghai Khaled Youssef has said that the World Travel Fair, which wrapped up here Sunday, is an important platform to showcase tourist products.

His remarks came after Egypt won the most famous tourist destination award at the WTF.

The flow of Chinese tourists is likely to increase to 200,000 in 2016 up from 115,000 last year, Youssef expected.

He told MENA correspondent in China that Egypt's participation in the event is important because China is one of the biggest tourist exporting countries in the world.

Some 120 million Chinese tourists traveled abroad in 2015, Youssef said, adding that's why Egypt is acting to increase the number of Chinese tourists to it.

The WTF is a prominent and most influential annual gala for the international tourism industry in China.

WTF brings together destinations, tourist attractions, as well as organizations and business in the field of civil aviation cruise, hotel and business travel around the world.

The WTF is committed to providing an effective platform that helps global tourism sellers develop China market, plus a one-stop solution to promote sales and gain brand awareness.
