Egypt is keen on enhancing trade and economic cooperation with the EU which is Egypt's number one trade partner, the trade minister said.

During a meeting on Saturday with Sweden's State Secretary for Trade Oscar Stenström, Qabil underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation among businessmen to establish joint projects and lure more Swedish investments into Egypt, especially in view of a package of incentives offered by the government for investors.

The meeting tackled means of enhancing trade and economic cooperation between the two countries in the coming period.

Qabil noted that Egypt can be a center point for Swedish products' access to African markets.

Stenström accentuated that his country is keen on fostering cooperation with Egypt which is one of the most important Middle East and African States.

He added that realizing all-out stability in Egypt represents a top priority to Sweden.

Stenström said his visit to Egypt falls within the framework of a comprehensive program to bolster Sweden's trade ties with 26 States, including Egypt.

Stenström said Egypt is a key trade partner to Sweden, noting that there are main cooperation vistas between both sides in the industry, transport and housing.
