Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohammad Orabi received today a telephone call from head of Hamas Politburo Khalid Mishaal during which they reviewed the latest Palestinian developments. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Minha Bakhoum said during the contact Mishaal expressed appreciation for Egypt's role in achieving the Palestinian reconciliation, adding that the Palestinian official briefed Orabi on the latest developments related to the formation of Palestinian national unity government. He expressed intention to visit Cairo to complete talks on the Palestinian issue. The Spokeswoman said the Egyptian minister, for his part, stressed the importance of completing all the benefits of the Palestinian reconciliation, so that focus would be turned to getting the international recognition of Palestinian state and to remove any excuses by the Israeli side to avoid the resumption of negotiations.
