The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, opened the restored Ataq Central Hospital, the Heneishan Secondary School for Boys and the Arwa School for Girls in the directorate of Ataq in Shabwah Governorate of Yemen today.
The maintenance, restoration, rehabilitation and furnishing works in the two schools were completed, according to an agreement made by the ERC with one of the maintenance companies last August.
Mohammed Saif Al Muhairi, Head of the ERC team in Shabwah, stressed in his statement the importance of restoring the infrastructure for these service projects, especially as they were related to the health and education sectors.
The inauguration of the restored hospital and schools was attended by the Director-General of Education, General Health and Population Office in the governorate.
Al Muhairi emphasised the efforts being made by the UAE and the ERC to support the health sector and provide the basic medical needs in Shabwah, while improving the quality of the services offered, in addition to supporting the educational process in Shabwah.
Abdrabbuh Hashla Nasser, Secretary-General of the Local Council in Shabwah, praised the efforts of the UAE and its people in supporting the service sectors, particularly health and education, through ERC.
