French Justice Minister Michel Mercier, commended, on Thursday, his country's cooperation with Morocco as part of bilateral groups on the fight against terrorism. During the 7th international Congress of terrorism victims, which opened on Thursday in Paris, Mercier stressed France's commitment to strengthening its international cooperation to combat this scourge, highlighting the pertinence of bilateral working groups on terrorism "to which we are participating very actively with our American, Spanish and Moroccan friends." "These groups are essential because they enable the exchange of operational information and the strengthening of mutual requests for legal assistance," he said before some 450 participants, including international experts in the fight against terrorism, who are invited to listen to testimonies of terror victims from 35 countries, including Morocco. Held under the patronage of French President Nicolas Sarkozy, the 7th International Congress of terrorism victims is bringing together representatives of the most affected countries by terrorism. Debates focus on the impact of terror attacks on the victim’s families, the increase of terror threat, the phenomenon of youth recruitment by terror organizations and the role of states and civil societies in supporting victims of terror attacks.
