French authorities deplored on Friday the loss of civilian life as a result of the clashes Thursday between Palestinians and Israelis and a militant attack by Palestinians on Israeli civilians, which killed seven and wounded a number of others. France condemned the coordinated attacks against Israelis and urged a renewed mobilisation for peace. Israeli raids against militants and Gaza, following Thursday's attacks, killed a number of people and these air raids were ongoing Friday. "We deplore the deaths of civilians during these attacks and the violence that followed," Foreign Ministry deputy spokeswoman Christine Fages said of the operations against Israel and in Gaza. "It is essential that all parties show restraint," she added.
