Automotive waste
Lyon - Arab Today

French customs seized 15 tons of automotive waste in Lyon, as it was about to be exported to Morocco.

The cargo impounded by the French Costumes consisted of automobile parts, which were intended to be transported to Morocco illegally by a car broker. Other items confiscated included engines, dashboards and mirrors.

It is against Moroccan law to import unauthorized waste into Morocco, with a fine of MAD 50,000 to 2,000,000 and a penalty of three months to two years of imprisonment for anyone convicted of the crime.

In France, the export of this waste is punished with a fine of EUR 75,000 and up to two years of imprisonment.
